I'm not sure what it is about transformers, but I've never seen a little boy who didn't like them. I first bought them for my son, who is now in his thirties. However, some of the other versions are much more complicated than this inexpensive toy. It appears sturdy and my grandson transforms it A LOT. He just turned 4, and it is easy for him to maneuver, and his uses his imagination with it as he uses it to play with his other toys. He enjoys it mostly in its robot form and carries it around all of the time.
